Butterfield Stage Route

The Butterfield Stage Route (also known as the "Oxbow Route") in Arkansas extended west from Memphis to Little Rock, then northwest to Fort Smith, and finally north to near Pea Ridge along the border with Missouri.
In central Arkansas the route passed through Old Austin, Parnell, Jacksonville, North Little Rock, Little Rock, Oak Grove, Morgan, Palarm, Mayflower, Conway, Cadron Settlement, Menifee, Plumerville, Morrilton, Kenwood, and Blackwell.
The general stage office was located at Anthony House in Little Rock. A Butterfield stage landing was located on the Arkansas River near Toad Suck.
