U.S. Highway 64 enters the state of Arkansas at West Memphis in the east and exits the state at Fort Smith on the western border with Oklahoma.

In central Arkansas U.S. Highway 64 connects Beebe with Conway, Arkansas, passing through Vilonia and Hamlet in Faulkner County. From Conway the highway roughly follows the right bank of the Arkansas River, passing through Menifee, Plumerville, Morrilton, and Kenwood on its way to Russellville.
