Melanie Masino
Melanie Masino is the executive director of the Hot Springs Documentary Film Institute. In 2004 Masino scheduled the opening of the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival to coincide closely with the Clinton Library dedication. The Film Festival also scheduled three days of screenings of documentaries near the Library. Said Masino, "We're just beginning the collaboration, but we're hoping to keep it going well into the future. We hope to take this program on the road after premiering it during the library opening."
The Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival is the location selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the selection of best documentary nominees. Film festival organizers expect about 24,000 visitors in a typical year.
