North Little Rock Mini Beach

From FranaWiki

In North Little Rock, near the Big Dam Bridge, there is a small beach off the bicycle/walking trail. The sand is extremely fine and there is sizable amount of space to put down a few chairs and relax with your family and friends. Very few people seem to know about this location and it is a great place to go for an evening walk. It is a little bit tricky to get there but it is definitely rewarding once you actually find it. There are also some interesting wooden structures there and you can occasionally find boaters anchoring their boats nearby and walking on the beach.

In order to get there, you need to get on to I-430 North going towards Conway and take the exit for Maumelle. Once you take the exit, take a right and then take another right at the first traffic light. After you take the right at the traffic light, take another right and go all the way down the road. Steer towards the left and go towards the Big Dam Bridge. There is plenty of parking available by the bridge so just park your vehicle there and start walking on the trail by the bridge. After about a 10-15 minute walk you will come to a point where there is a roundabout and another separate trail. Go towards the right (off the trail) and start walking by the river. After 5 minutes, you should reach the beach area. Sit down, open some drinks, and enjoy the Natural State.

Also, make sure to go on a day when it is really sunny outside. I wouldn’t recommend going on a rainy week as the sand stays wet for a while and the beach area reduces significantly as the water level rises. I would plan on spending about 2-3 hours at the beach. After enjoying the beach, you could always go for a walk on the Big Dam Bridge and enjoy sitting on the rocks by the river in Rebsamen Park. Rebsamen Park is probably the most enjoyable park in Central Arkansas and it is relatively lively in the evening.
