Jason Rouby

Jason Rouby was executive director of Metroplan from the mid-1960s to the late 1980s.

Rouby received a bachelor's degree in English at Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. While in Ohio he worked as a copy boy and police reporter for the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He worked at the Jonesboro Evening Sun for three years. He then moved to the Arkansas Gazette newspaper between November 1, 1951, and April 1, 1959. His beat included Little Rock City Hall, North Little Rock City Hall, the Pulaski County Courthouse, the Little Rock Housing Authority, and Metroplan.

In 1959 Rouby became assistant to the president of the Urban Progress Association, who at that time was Raymond Rebsamen. He remained with Urban Progress until May 1, 1962, when he joined the Omaha Chamber of Commerce to help with urban renewal activities in that Nebraska city.

On July 1, 1966, Rouby returned to Little Rock as executive director of Metroplan. He retired on July 1, 1988.
