Edmund Hogan may have been the first permanent white settler on land that would one day become Little Rock, Arkansas. Hogan arrived in 1818. He was preceded by several other settlers in what would become Pulaski County, including John Gozel, John Pyeatt, and Jacon Pyeatt. Hogan settled near what would become known as Pyeattstown. Hogan became a justice of the peace in the county.
