U.S. Highway 70 begins in Atlantic, North Carolina, and ends in Globe, Arizona. The route crosses into Arkansas in the east at West Memphis and exits in the west near DeQueen. In central Arkansas the highway crosses Lonoke County, passing through Carlisle and Lonoke before entering North Little Rock on East Broadway. The highway passes over the Arkansas River at the Broadway Bridge, then turns west onto Roosevelt Road. At Roosevelt's intersection with Asher Avenue the road follows the latter route before turning south on University Avenue. The highway merges with Interstate 30 on the south side of Little Rock.
