Jerry Jewell

Jerry Jewell was an African-American dentist, Arkansas state senator, and the first black senator of the twentieth century. Jewell was elected to the Arkansas Senate in 1972. Jewell was also acting Arkansas Governor in 1993 after Bill Clinton won election to the presidency of the United States.
