The Argenta Farmer's Market, also known as the "Certified Arkansas Farmer's Market," is located in a parking lot at 410 Main Street between Fourth and Fifth streets along Main Street in downtown North Little Rock. The 220 square-foot market will open on May 3, 2008, and will offer fresh produce from twelve certified Arkansas growers. The Argenta Farmer's Market opened for the first time with produce supplied by eight local growers on May 3, 2008. In May 2008 the market offered mustard, turnip, collard greens, arugula, lettuce, strawberries, radishes, decorative plants, swiss chard, shiitake mushrooms, honey, grass fed chicken eggs, grass fed beef and beefalo, and catfish. Other vendors on site included Penny Rudder with the "Menu of the Week," cooking class organizaers, volunteers from the Argenta and Citigrove Neighborhood associations, coffee and desserts from The Circle Café, Foodshed Farm, and the Basket-a-Month program for Community Supported Agriculture.
