Arkansas State Hospital

The Arkansas State Hospital exists to assist Arkansans with mental diseases. The institution was first known as the Arkansas State Lunatic Asylum, established by the General Assembly in 1873. It became known as the Arkansas State Hospital for Nervous Diseases in 1905, and simply as Arkansas State Hospital in 1933.
