Conway Tornado - April 10, 1965

On April 10, 165 an F4 tornado struck the east side of Conway, Arkansas. The tornado took six lives, hurt more than two hundred, and damaging numerous structures including the Conway Children's Colony a Virco plant, and homes in the Polk neighborhood and Ingram neighborhood. Male clients at the Children's Colony were housed for a time at UCA and female clients in Hendrix College's Grove Gym after the storm.
