The Arkansas State Capitol is a neoclassical government building situated at the corner of Woodlane & Capitol streets in Little Rock. The Governor's Office is located on the second floor of the building. The Capitol gardens and Liberty Bell Pavilion are open to the public.
The Capitol Building sits on the site of the former state penitentiary and was constructed with prison labor between 1899 and 1915. The State Capitol's cornerstone was laid on November 28, 1900. The estimated cost of the capitol building was $1 million. By the time of its completion the cost had swelled to $2.5 million.
The building features Tiffany brass doors installed in 1910 for $10,000.

Arkansas State Capitol Grounds Monuments
A number of monuments are located on the grounds of the Arkansas State Capitol: the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Monument to Confederate Soldiers, a replica of the Liberty Bell, the Bauxite and Granite Centennial Boulders, the Confederate War Prisoners Memorial, the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, the Arkansas Medal of Honor Memorial, the Memorial Fountain, the Monument to Confederate Women, and the Little Rock Nine Memorial.
