Peter Hotze owned a general store called P. Hotze & Co. in downtown Little Rock.
Hotze successively lived in two homes in the historic Quapaw Quarter of the city. The so-called "First Hotze House" is located at 1620 Main Street and was constructed around 1868. The "Second Hotze House" is a home built around 1900 at 1619 Louisiana Avenue. The house was designed by architect Charles Thompson as a retirement home.
