The Augustus Garland House at 1404 South Scott Street is an 1873 Italianate home built for Augustus Hill Garland, an Arkansas lawyer who became U.S. Senator, Confederate States Senator, Governor of Arkansas, and U.S. Attorney General under President Grover Cleveland. The house in the MacArthur Park Historic District of the city is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The home was later owned by Arkansas governor Charles Hillman Brough.
