Alexander is an incorporated town in eastern Saline County, Arkansas, on the border with Pulaski County. The town is on Arkansas Highway 111 and is served by I-30 interchange 126. The population of Alexander is 614.

In 1892 the town had a mixture of businesses. In the timber industry was J. F. George, a lumberman, and saw mill operators Peloubet & Son and Benjamin & Trump. General stores operated under C. C. Sims and [J. B. Watson]]. The local blacksmith was E. Koch and the local physician B. S. Medlock. A refinery was working under W. H. Lottner.
