Mrs. Katherine Post was married to Joacob Post's son Joseph. According to the post family website,  she was rumored to have served wine with the meals at her restaurant during the prohibition (1918-1934). When prohibition was finally over, After the prohibition Katherine applied and held a license to make and sell wine. She held the bonded winery number of BW11 until 1943 when Post Family and other wineries around Altus joined together to  form the Altus Cooperative Winery.
