Personal History
Hamber was born in Dardanelle, Arkansas. He attended Arkansas State Teachers College in 1937. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hamberg.
Hamberg entered the military on September 30, 1941. He served at Camp Robinson in Little Rock with the Military Band, anti-tank company of the 30th Infantry of the 3rd Division with the 5th Army and the 7th army. He trained at Anzio Beach, Italy.
Hamberg died during the Battle of the Bulge in Colmar, France.
