The USS Snook (SS 279) Memorial is a submarine torpedo surrounded by memorial tablets listing the names of sailors lost when the submarine failed to return from its ninth patrol. The exact cause of the loss of the submarine has never been determined, but it is thought to have been destroyed by the Japanese submarine I-56 on May 16, 1945. The memorial is located near the entrance of the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum in Little Rock.
