The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a nonprofit organization for sustainable building design and construction. The USGBC was launched in 2000. The Arkansas Green Building Council is an affiliate of the U.S. Green Building Council.

The Clinton Presidential Library has earned Silver (2004) and Platinum (2007) certification from the Green Building Council under the LEED® for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB) Rating System. The Heifer International headquarters received Platinum certification in 2006.
