The Pfeifer-Blass Department Store in downtown Little Rock was created as the result of a 1968 merger of the Pfeifer Department Store and the Blass Department Store by William T. Dillard. Dillard had purchased Pfeifer's in September 1963, and Blass in February 1964.

In July 1972 Dillard closed the larger Blass store on Main Street, but kept the old Pfeifer location open. A Pfeifer-Blass department store opened in the McCain Mall in September 1972. Both Pfeifer-Blass stores were renamed Dillard's Department Stores in 1974. The downtown Dillard's closed in January 1990.
