Marc Rich is a financier pardoned by President Clinton. His ex-wife Denise Rich gave $450,000 to the Clinton Foundation for the Clinton Presidential Center construction fund at about the time of his pardon. The timing of the donation prompted an inquiry by Indiana Representative Dan Burton.

Rich fled the United States for Switzerland with business partner Pincus Green in 1983 after being indicted by the U.S. Department of Justice. The Justice Department accused the pair of fraud and failure to pay $48 million in taxes owed in illict oil cartel deals struck at the height of the Iranian hostage crisis.
