The Downing B. Jenks Locomotive Repair Shop opened in North Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1984. The facility, which cost $40 million to build, is one of the largest locomotive repair shops in the world. The facility was built by the Missouri Pacific Railroad, and is now the Arkansas headquarters of the Union Pacific Railroad. Downing B. Jenks, for whom the shop is named, is a former president of the Missouri Pacific Railroad.
