Charles Chester Reid

Charles Chester Reid was an attorney in the general practice firm of Mehaffy, Reid, Donham & Mehaffy of Little Rock, Arkansas. Partners in the firm were Tom Miller Mehaffy, Reid, William Robert Donham, and James William Mehaffy.

The firm served as counsel to the American Bauxite Company, Standard Oil Company of Louisiana, Wells Fargo & Company, Hayes Grain, and the Missouri Pacific Railroad. Offices of the firm were located at 715-721 the Boyle Building.

Charles Chester Reid was born in Clarksville, Arkansas, on June 15, 1868, and educated in the public schools. He received his undergraduate education at the University of Arkansas, and his LL.D. at Vanderbilt University in 1887. He was admitted to the bar that same year. Reid served as a prosecuting attorney from 1896 to 1900 before becoming a member of the U.S. House of Representatives in 1901. He served in that capacity until 1911.
