The Augustus Garland House at 1404 South Scott Street is an 1873 Italianate home of Augustus Hill Garland, an Arkansas lawyer who became U.S. Senator, Confederate States Senator, Governor of Arkansas, and U.S. Attorney General under President Grover Cleveland. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
