Arkansas Economic Development Commission

The Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC) is charged with the task of promoting economic growth and diversity in the state. The leading industry in the state is aerospace, with $1 billion in exports in 2006.

Members are appointed by the governor. Current commission members are Tom Kirk, Lisa Ferrell, Paul Harvel. The executive director of AEDC is Maria Luisa M. Haley. Spokesperson for the commission is Joe Holmes.

Divisions of the commission include the Arkansas Energy Office and the Training Division. Steve Sparks is director of the Training Division.

The AEDC was formerly known as the Arkansas Industrial Development Commission.
