Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, performed a special Clinton Presidential Center dedication concert on November 16, 2004, with the Arkansas Symphony at the Robinson Center Music Hall. Ticket prices for the concert ranged from $115 to $300.

At the concert comedian Whoopi Goldberg hosted a reception for one hundred black supporters of President Clinton.
