Nealon DeVore

Nealon DeVore is past personal aide to Bill Clinton and co-editor of The Clinton Presidential Center Cookbook: A Collection of Recipes from Family and Friends. DeVore is a graduate of the Honors College at the University of Central Arkansas.

The Cookbook, co-edited with Shannon Butler, includes 250 separate recipes by Clinton administration officials, friends, and family members. Featured in the cookbook are Southern dishes, including pecan pie, jambalaya, and grits. Contributors to the book include James Carville, Chevy Chase, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Betty Currie, Whoopie Goldberg, Al & Tipper Gore, Leon Panetta, Mary Steenburgen.

A typical entry:

"Don Henley's Corn Dogs

½ cup flour, ½ cup cornmeal, 1 tsp. salt, ½ cup milk, 1 egg, 1tbsp. cooking oil, 12 hot dogs, skewers, oil for frying Combine dry ingredients in bowl. Add milk, egg and oil, stirring until smooth. Insert skewers into dogs and dip dogs into batter. Cook two to three minutes in hot oil in skillet."

All proceeds of the cookbook, which retails for $24.95, go to the Clinton Foundation.
