Townsend Wolfe

Townsend Wolfe is former director of the Arkansas Arts Center. Under his leadership the center's Rockefeller Gallery was expanded in 1980, the Decorative Arts Museum opened in 1985, and the Strauss Gallery addition opened in 1989. In 2000 Wolfe saw the completion of $10 million in additional improvements to the Arkansas Arts Center, including the Townsend Wolfe Gallery, Jeannette Edris Rockefeller Gallery, the Jackson T. Stephens Gallery, and the Alice Pratt Brown Atrium.

Wolfe was born in South Carolina. He received his B.F.A. from the Atlanta Art Institute and his master's from the Cranbrook Academy of Arts. He has completed advanced studies at the Harvard Institute of Arts Administration.
