John D. Arbuckle was a Little Rock general practice attorney and Arkansas Attorney General from 1917 to 1921.
Arbuckle was born at Arbuckle's Island, Arkansas, on June 24, 1868. He received his A.B. degree from the University of Arkansas in 1892, and was admitted to the bar in 1894. He received his LL.B. degree from the University of Arkansas in 1907.
Arbuckle served as a circuit court clerk from 1900 to 1904. He was an insurance clerk in the State Auditor's Office from 1905 to 1907, and prosecuting attorney for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit from 1908 to 1912. He served as assistant U.S. Attorney from 1913 to 1917, and Arkansas Attorney General from 1917 to 1921.
