Walter E. Hussman, Jr. is president and chief executive officer of WEHCO Media in Little Rock, Arkansas. The company is owner of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Northwest Arkansas Times, and Benton County Daily Record newspapers.
In 1978 Hussman's Democrat sold only half as many papers as its rival, the Arkansas Gazette. On October 18, 1991, Hussman purchased the Gazette from the Gannett Corporation for $69.3 million. The next day the papers merged as the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
