Steel Center Lectures (also known as the Marshall T. Steel Center for the Study of Religion and Philosophy) take place each year in the Mills Center on the campus of Hendrix College. The purpose of the lectures is to support the school's "capabilities in the fields of religion and philosophy." The center focuses on issues of interdisciplinary importance, including practical theology and religious studies.
The lecture and workshop series is named for past college president and distinguished alumnus Marshall T. Steel. The director of the Steel Center is professor of religion Jay McDaniel. The center is funded by a gift from Ruth Veasey.
