Little Rock National Cemetery is a federal burial ground for soldiers of the United States Armed Forces. The cemetery is closed to new burials.
At the outbreak of the Civil War, the land was in use as an encampment for Union troops. It was purchased from the City of Little Rock in 1866. On April 9, 1868, the land was formally designated as a national cemetery, and bodies buried on Arkansas battlefields were re-interred here. Confederate troops were buried on the west side of the field and Union occupation troops on the east side. A wall was put up between the two sides, but was removed in 1913. In 1938 the west side of the cemetery became officially known as the "Confederate Section of Little Rock National Cemetery."
The cemetery is located at 2523 Confederate Boulevard.
