Ward School Furniture Company was established by school bus manufacturer Dave Ward and Ward Industries of Conway in 1956. Ward established the Harkrider Avenue business because he could already make the tubular metal parts necessary in his stamping mill at the nearby Ward Body Works. The company manufactured tube and pressed steel-type chairs and chair-desks, as well as metal folding tables.
Ward School Furniture was sold to Chamberlin School Furniture for a profit in the early 1960s.
