General Douglas MacArthur (1880-1964) was born on the grounds of the Little Rock Arsenal (now in MacArthur Park) in 1880. MacArthur personally visited the park in 1952, surrounded by 10,000 onlookers paying tribute to the World War II hero.
MacArthur attended the West Point Military Academy where he graduated at the top of his class.
