The Hanger House at 1010 Scott Street is a Queen Anne mansion built by cotton planter and cotton gin owner Frederick Hanger. The home features a prominent Japanese "moongate" porch.
The house was later home to Charles Witsell, who founded the architectural firm Witsell Evans Rasco (WER) in its kitchen.
