New page

The '''Rock House Cave''' is located on the quarter-mile Rock House Cave trail in [[Petit Jean State Park]]. The park is in [[Conway County]]. Arkansas. The cave features a hand quern where Native American Indians ground maize for making bread. There are 105 Paleoindian and Mississippian pictographs inside the cave of fish, other animals, and abstract figures. The pictographs were painted using crushed iron ore as the pigment.

The trail features sandstone Turtle Rocks with patterns resembling huge turtle shells. The Turtle Rocks are the eroded remains of a beach along an ancient sea.
