'''Harlan Park Baptist Church''' was established in [[Conway]], Arkansas, on July 10, 1966. The church was a mission of the local [[First Baptist Church]]. The original congregation had twenty-two members and met in a home owned by [[Hendrix College]]. On September 1, 1966, services were moved to the home of [[G. E. Owen]] at the corner of College Avenue and Locust Street. The first pastor to thirty-two charter members was the Reverend [[Allen T. McCurry]], a missionary from the [[Faulkner Baptist Association]].

In 1967 the congregation, now about fifty members, erected a new sanctuary on Hartje Lane in south Conway. This church, accommodating 150 in its sanctuary, was constructed by [[R & W Construction Company]] of [[North Little Rock]].
