The '''Arkansas State Fair Homebrew Competition''' is a competition for homebrewed beer, mead, or cider that has been held annually at the [[Arkansas State Fair]] in mid-October at the Arkansas State Fair Complex in [[Little Rock]], Arkansas since 2008. The competition is sponsored by the [[Central Arkansas Fermenters]]. This competition is open to Arkansas residents only.

Entries to the competition are judged based on the [[American Homebrew Association]] and the [[Beer Judge Certification Program]]’s homebrew judging guidelines. The competition is sanctioned by the AHA.

Those interested in submitting an entry must pay a $7 entry fee and must submit their beer, mead, or cider in an unmarked green or brown 10-14 ounce bottle to the Competition before the state fair begins. The exact date is set by the [[Central Arkansas Fermenters]].

Judges for the competition include volunteers from the community that must pre-register with the [[Central Arkansas Fermenters]] in addition to experienced homebrew judges from the nearby homebrew community that are brought in with the [[Central Arkansas Fermenters]].

The 2010 Arkansas State Homebrew Competition had 27 categories for entries plus awarded an overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and an award for best mead and best cider. Best in show in 2010 went to Jeff Clanton for his sour ale entitled “White Muscadine Lambic.”
