Personal History

Turner was born on December 28, 1919, in Cale, Arkansas to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. Turner. He attended the Arkansas State Teachers College (now the University of Central Arkansas) for two years, and as a civilian he was a sales clerk. Turner enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps on October 14, 1940 and trained at the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Turner died on July 1, 1942 at age 22 as a result of a mid-air collision in Long Beach, California. He is buried in DeAnn Cemetery in his hometown of Prescott, Arkansas.
