Major Chambless M.Chesnutt

Personal History

Chambless Marshall Chesnutt was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Edgar Burks Chesnutt and Frances Amelia Marshall. Chesnutt had one brother, Edgar F. Chesnutt. Chesnutt married at the age of 31 and had 3 children.

Military History

Chesnutt entered into the Air Force in 1959. He served as a Major with the 47th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 8th Tactical Fighter Wing, 13th Air Force in Vietnam. Major Chesnutt served from 1959 until his death in 1965.

Death

On September 30, 1965, Major Chesnutt flew his plane out of Ubon RTAFB, Thailand and was killed by an air missile over Ninh Binh Bridge in Vietnam. Chesnutt is currently buried in Little Rock National Cemetery.
