White talked about entering the military after high school, but his mother was against it. In the fall of 1968, Donald enrolled at Arkansas Teachers State College in Conway, Arkansas where he also enrolled in the ROTC program.

Personal History

Donald "Don" Nisler White was born in Plumerville, Arkansas but grew up in Morrilton, Arkansas. He has one brother, Bill Mitchell. He graduated from Morrilton High School in 1968 where he played football and made the All-District team his senior year. White talked about entering the military after high school, but his mother was against it. In the fall of 1968, Donald enrolled at Arkansas Teachers State College in Conway, Arkansas where he also enrolled in the ROTC program.
