 Robert T. Mills was born on May 4, 1918 in Conway, Faulkner county, Arkansas to parents Louis Mills (Jan. 29, 1883 – Nov. 6, 1968) and Nettie Treece Mills (Dec. 3, 1887 - Feb. 9, 1959). Mills was brother of C. Maxine, P. Alphia, K. Louis, and V. Lawrence Mills. He joined the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Army_Air_Forces U.S. Army Air Forces] where he served until his death.
 Captain Robert T. Mills died in action on July 29, 1944 aboard the U.S. Army Air Corps B-29 #42-6274 "Lady Hamilton." The plane was shot down by a Japanese fighter over China while returning from a bombing mission to Japan. Eight survived the crash, however three crew members perished, including Captain Mills (also, S/Sgt. Walker, S/Sgt. Richard Wehrle). Captain Mills is buried in the Little Rock National Cemetery in Little Rock, Arkansas at plot 21, 7490.
