Major Charles Edward Darr was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. Darr was married to Donna Darr. He left behind a daughter, two grandsons, and a granddaughter.

==Military History==

Major Darr served in the United States Army from 1969-1972. He served with the 340th Bomb Squadron, 72nd Strategic Air Wing in [[Wikipedia:Andersen Air Force Base| Andersen Air Force Base]], Guam. Darr did his basic training and officers training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Darr was promoted from 1st Lieutenant to Major wile missing in action in Vietnam.

==Death==

On December 21, 1972, Major Darr was killed while bombing Hanoi, North Vietnam. His bomber was shot down by an air missile and was declared missing in action. His body was recovered on September 15, 1981 and was returned to US soil on December 15, 1988.
