In 2004, he received an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy, but chose to enlist in the U.S. Army Reserve instead. On March 29, 2005 he joined the U.S. Army Reserve and attended the Special Warfare Training Center at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as the youngest soldier to attend and graduate from there. He was a trained Civil Affairs Sgt. and was assigned to the 431st Civil Affairs Battalion, North Little Rock, a sub unit of the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command. <br />

Sturdivant was scheduled to return home just two weeks prior to his death. On January 22, 2008 Sgt. Sturdivant died in Kirkuk, Iraq, of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident during convoy operations at the age of 20 years old. <br />

In 2007 he entered the military and was a part of the 122nd Aviation Support Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, and the 82nd Airborne Division. He served in the National Guard, Army Reserves, and the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. Liles met and married Aubre Pachal Liles and had a daughter named Aurora. <br />

On November 13, 2007 2nd Lieut. Liles died in Bagram, Afghanistan from injuries suffered in a non-combat related incident. He is buried in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR. <br />

Dustin Lee Kendall, a son of missionaries, was born in Conway, Missouri to Penny J and Brandi Kendall. Kendall grew up with four brothers and one sister, Courtney Steed. In 2002, he and his family moved to Bryant, Arkansas. He attended Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama then went to the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas. Penny J and Brandi eventually moved to Europe four years later, but Dustin stayed in Bryant to continue attending UCA. An interesting fact about Dustin is he considered a career designing golf courses. Colleagues of Dustin said he was a favorite amongst regular customers at the Ruby Tuesday restaurant in Bryant.<br />

At 21 years old, Dustin signed up for active duty after two years in the Army Reserve. Corporal Kendall was deployed to Iraq in November 2005. He was assigned to the Army's 1st Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division in Fort Carson, Colorado.<br />

During the Somalia War he was assigned as a task force ranger in Mogadishu. <br />

Donovan Lee Briley was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his actions during Operation Gothic Serpent on October 3, 1993. His awards also include two bronze stars, two purple hearts, two Air Medals with "V" devices, and two Air Medals. A memorial for Briley was erected on the grounds of Camp Joseph T. Robinson along with a street named after him.<br />

He had 8 siblings, including Mary I. Gillham Reeves (1877 – 1954), Ida Melinda Gillham Pate (1878 - 1915), James William Gillham (1880 - 1949), Alonzo Jackson Gillham (1883 - 1883), Nellie L Lowrey (1886 - 1924), Myrtie Sefronia Gillham Keys (1889 - 1920), Robert Edward Gillham (1891 - 1962), Charles Henry Gillham (1894 - 1963). Gillham was a saw miller at the time of his draft registration. He was employed by E.E. Davis. Gillham had brown eyes and hair, and was of tall height and medium weight. <br />
