Lieutenant Walker Tedford: Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Infantry and the U.S. Army Air Corps.  &lt;br /&gt;

== Personal History ==&lt;br /&gt;
Tedford was born on May 2, 1919, in Wattensaw, AR, to Luther E. and Golden J. Tedford. He had three siblings: Lee, Reece, and Ernestine Tedford. He lived both in Alaska and South Carolina for some time before attending Arkansas State Teachers College (known as the University of Central Arkansas today) for one year. He was never married and had no children.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
While stationed in Greenville, South Carolina Tedford was co-piloting a B-25C bomber that crashed. He was killed and his body was returned to Arkansas where he is buried in the Salem Cemetery in Lonoke, AR. &lt;br /&gt;

== Personal History ==&lt;br /&gt;
Turner was born on December 28, 1919, in Cale, Arkansas to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. Turner. He attended the Arkansas State Teachers College (now the University of Central Arkansas) for two years, and as a civilian he was a sales clerk. Turner enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps on October 14, 1940 and trained at the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Turner died on July 1, 1942 at age 22 as a result of a mid-air collision in Long Beach, California. He is buried in DeAnn Cemetery in his hometown of Prescott, Arkansas.&lt;br /&gt;

He had three children: Joe Jr., Elizabeth, and Margaret.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Day served in both World Wars and as part of the National Guard.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

Chick was born in Saline Township, AR. He attended Arkansas State Teachers College, now known as [[Wikipedia:University_of_Central_Arkansas| UCA]], in 1928 (winter) and 1933 (spring). His parents were Mrs. H.W. Montgomery, Chester Arthur Chick (1883-1914), Dollie May Henry (1890-1970), and Henry W. Montgomery, step-father (1883-1958). He had no siblings.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Chick married Ruby Threlkeld Chick on December 31, 1938 in Weakley County, Tennessee, and had one child with her, Thomas Wesley Chick (born 1940). After attending undergrad at UCA and graduate school at [[Wikipedia:University_of_Arkansas_for_Medical_Sciences| UAMS]], his son became a pulmonologist.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He enlisted in the 175th Infantry, 29th Division of the Army, Tennessee, on September 16, 1940.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Chick was killed in action in Normandy, France. He is buried in [[Wikipedia:Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial|Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial]] in France. His wife never remarried.&lt;br /&gt;

Ford was born in Charleston, Arkansas. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Ford. He was married to Mary Frances Ford. He then attended the [[Wikipedia:United_States_Military_Academy| Military Academy at West Point]] in 1938, graduating in June 1942.&lt;br /&gt;

Ford began serving in the United States Air Corps in June of 1942 as a [[Wikipedia:Lockheed_P-38_Lightning| P-38 fighter]] pilot. He was the commander of the 384th Fighter Squadron of the 8th Air Force. He served in England.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Ford died in a plane crash in Honington, England on July 8, 1944.&lt;br /&gt;

Ingram was born in Gurdon, AR on April 14, 1920. He lived both in Little Rock and South Carolina for some time. Ingram attended Arkansas State Teachers College (known as the University of Central Arkansas today) for three years before joining the Air Corps on January 5, 1942. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He was married to Wanda Gibson on August 19, 1942 in Boone, AR. He had no children.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Ingram was killed on November 8, 1944, while flying over the Himalayan Mountains. He was first buried in India, but was reinterred in Richmond, Virginia, in a mass grave with three other soldiers. &lt;br /&gt;

Mills was brother of C. Maxine, P. Alphia, K. Louis, and V. Lawrence Mills. Captain Robert T. Mills died in action on July 29, 1944 aboard the U.S. Army Air Corps B-29 #42-6274 &amp;quot;Lady Hamilton.&amp;quot; The plane was shot down by a Japanese fighter over China while returning from a bombing mission to Japan. Eight survived the crash, however three crew members perished, including Captain Mills (also, S/Sgt. Walker, S/Sgt. Richard Wehrle). Captain Mills is buried in the Little Rock National Cemetery in Little Rock, Arkansas at plot 21, 7490. &lt;br /&gt;

Eight survived the crash, however three crew members perished, including Captain Mills (also, S/Sgt. Walker, S/Sgt. Richard Wehrle). Mitchell was born in Perry, Arkansas to James H. and Pearl J. Mitchell. He had two siblings, Christine and Jeweldine Mitchell. He attended the [[Wikipedia:University_of_Central_Arkansas| Arkansas State Teachers College]] from 1938 to 1939.&lt;br /&gt;

Mitchell married Emmandell High on July 17, 1944 in St. Francis, Arkansas. He was a worker for NYA. Throughout his life, he lived in the Arkansas towns of Bentley, Conway, Perry, and Henton. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He enlisted in the 154th Observation Squadron, 19th Tactical Air Command, 379th Fighter Squadron of the US Army Air Forces. While in the military, he served in France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He went Missing in Action over Germany. A day after he was announced as MIA, he was promoted to major.&lt;br /&gt;

His parents were Mr. and Mrs B. B. Foster. He was known as “Cowboy” because of his interest in rodeo work. He spent two summer vacations riding for the Clyde Miller Rodeo.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Foster entered the Army Air Corps in January of 1944. He served in England as a transport pilot.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

Middleton lived in Conway, AR. He attended Arkansas State Teachers College, now known as [[Wikipedia:University of Central Arkansas| UCA]], in September 1935 and graduated in January 1941 with a Bachelor of the Arts, majoring in social sciences. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Middleton.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He was a member of the Chi Nu fraternity.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He entered the Army Air Corps in March of 1941. Middleton received his first aviation training while he was still in college, and took his basic training at [[Wikipedia:Hatbox_Field| Spartan Field in Muskogee, OK]].  He received his silver wings in October of 1941. He was a first lieutenant, but was due for promotion to captain on December 3, 1943.&lt;br /&gt;

His other hobbies included fishing, swimming, and reading.&lt;br /&gt;

His parents were Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Pemberton, Sr. Pemberton attended the Arkansas State Teachers College, now known as the [[Wikipedia:University of Central Arkansas| University of Central Arkansas]], from September 1941 through June 1942.&lt;br /&gt;

He entered the United States Army Air Corps in June 1942 and became active duty in December 1942. Pemberton trained as an aviation cadet, earning his wings in October of 1943. He was assigned as the first pilot on a [[Wikipedia:Consolidated_B-24_Liberator| B-24]] and sent to [[Wikipedia:Bari| Bari, Italy]] in April 1944. There he participated in [[Wikipedia:Operation_Tidal_Wave| aerial raids]] over the [[Wikipedia:Ploiești| Ploești area of Romania]].&lt;br /&gt;

During Lieutenant Pemberton's 9th raid over the Ploești area, his plane was shot. Despite the plane's heavy damage, Pemberton was almost able to fly it back to the base. However, just after crossing the Yugoslavian coastline the engine gave out and the crew was forced to abandon the plane. The crew, including Pemberton, died following ejection from the aircraft.&lt;br /&gt;

Rushing entered into the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Army_Air_Corps U.S. Army Air Corps] at the age of 23 in Woodruff County, Augusta, Arkansas on October 16, 1940. He began service on December, 1940 with the 133rd infantry. (His service number was 747324.) In May of 1943, Rushing was promoted to Second Lieutenant, a rank which he maintained until his death in 1944. Rushing also served with the Army Air Corps 451st Bomber Group, 727th Bomber Squadron. &lt;br /&gt;

Rushing was one of five siblings, including Sam Rushing (1919-unknown), Elizabeth Rushing (1921-unknown), Fred Rushing (1923-unknown), Alice Marie Rushing Waller (1924-2004), and Bobbie Rushing (1927-unknown). In May of 1943, Rushing was promoted to Second Lieutenant, a rank which he maintained until his death in 1944. He also spent time as a student at [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louisiana_State_University Louisiana State University] in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as well as the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Central_Arkansas Arkansas State Teachers College] from 1934-1936. &lt;br /&gt;

Lawrence Rushing died on February 7th, 1944 from non-combat related head injuries. A truck pulling a water tank skidded, causing the water tank to fall off and onto Rushing.
